With the assistance of the other Fire Departments, Lakeville Fire Fighters conducted an extraction of the solo occupant of the vehicle.   Despite their best life saving efforts, the driver of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene Paramedics from the Petaluma Fire Department.

Lakeville Highway, a major thoroughfare through southern Sonoma County, was shut down for approximately one hour in both direction. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
